Chabad House Happenings

Dear Friends,

This past week has been difficult for our brothers and sisters in Israel and for all of us around the world. We have all seen the images and heard the reports of the terrible crimes committed against our people. We are glued to our screens as we follow the events as they unfold.

G-d gave us a gift of Shabbos - an oasis of peace and serenity. Let us utilize this day to regain our equilibrium and our joy. Unless you are on duty in the IDF or on call as a first responder, shut your phone. Spend the day in a positive, joyous and loving environment.

Our Sages tell us, the tone we set on Shabbat Bereishit, the beginning of the new Torah cycle, will carry us for the entire year. So, this Shabbat, light candles, enjoy quality family time at the Shabbat table, and don't talk about negative things. Stay positive, upbeat and joyous! Let us dance and sing in shul and at home, and G-d will bless us with a year filled with blessings which are just around the corner!

Chabad House Happenings

Dear Family and Friends,

Summer came quickly this year! Rochel and I had the opportunity to visit the Ohel of the Rebbe yesterday, the day of his Yahrtzeit. We prayed for the wellbeing of all the patients and their families staying at Aishel House and for the entire Aishel House community of supporters and volunteers.

Summer is also the season when we bid farewell to our interns. This Shabbos will be the last at Aishel House for Shayna Unterslak. Her contribution to Aishel House this year was immeasurable, and we will miss her!

Come for kiddush tomorrow to say l'chaim and wish her well!
